I came in late for the general session. He talked about common planning times which would be great. Actually it would be great to HAVE a planning time. The next session was about treating students as customers by doing things like knowing their name. We were given a copy of a teacher service guarantee that was very cute. We also took a customer service skills quiz where you interchange the word customer for student. I think that would be something to share with our teachers. The open source and free software presentation was very informative. It needed to be longer. I am like most of the teachers at my school in the fact that its nice to hear about all the "stuff" you can do with programs, but I need to SEE and DO the application for it to do me any good.

ReplyDeleteFor our school since there are only two Family and Consumer Sciences teachers. It would be better for our program if our planning times were different so we could offer courses in another time slot.
I really liked the collaborative teams in the mornings, I wondered how they met the instrucional hours required in a day.
