Wednesday, August 4: Techie Yet?

Good stuff, really good stuff. Sessions I attended today were: CompassLearning Odyssey Virtual Access, Let's Use Those Cell Phones, Phantastic Photostory, Google Your Classroom, My Flexible GIS and techSteps K-12: Top 10 Tips. The most valuable session to me was the DEP's My Flexible GIS session. The Dept. of Environmental Protection has a nice online, interactive GIS application utilizing ESRI and USGS information. The website is gisonline.dep.wv.us.gov and seems to be user friendly. There are several filters and shows the industry's use of GIS. I enjoyed the Let's Use Those Cell Phones session. It was very practical and valid uses of cell phones. Photostory and Google were very full sessions and had useful information. I really had fun playing Jeopardy on the Promethean whiteboard with Janie, Jill, Donna and Chuck. Also, I was able to visit several vendors during this time.
