As I sat at the table for lunch and listened to the announcements of the awarding of grants to the various schools and counties, I was amazed to the amount of money that was given. As I tried to calculate the figures in my head, I think it totaled around 2 Million dollars. That was a lot of zeros after the 2. The money is to be used to integrate and implement technology in the awarded educational districts. It is apparent that the state of West Virginia has a priority in improving education in the schools and making the product which is the students competitive in the Global business world.
In the one session that I attended, a group of IT professionals discussed problems with security and procedures in the educational system. Those in attendance included representatives from Higher Education as well as local and state leaders in the field.
And to all in the CTE Cohort, I enjoyed the creativity of each groups project and congrats to Steve and Gwen for their presentation.
