Tuesday, August 3
The morning was very informative and I appreciated the time. Sean Tuohy was a wonderful speaker and was motivating. I did get my books signed. YAY! Sessions I attended after visiting the vendors were: Infrastructure Best Practices and Policy 6200 and Globaloria in Education. Our networking technologies instructor was in the session and help me with some of the jargon. We both realized we are lacking in infrastructure at our facility. Globaloria was gaming software and interesting but not something I would implement in my classroom at this time.

Your children are so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteHello Abby,
ReplyDeleteThe end of another great day! As everyone else had pointed out it was great to meet as a group and find out exactly where we were at, where we should be and what was to come next. It was also nice to have a little bit of group time to exchange ideas and take photos.
The opening speaker, Mr. Tuohy, was fantastic. He served as a great reminder of why we are in education and the opportunity as well as duty to inspire and touch our student’s lives. How inspirational!
The first afternoon session I went to was on incorporating cell phones into our classrooms. I think it was very informative and Lori was a great presenter making it very interactive while she pointed out the pros and cons of the technology.
The final session that I attended was the Globaloria with Monica Beane. I thought it was a good session but I would have liked to have an opportunity to explore the site and technology on a more interactive basis as opposed to a passive observer.
My favorite part of the day was definitely the opening ceremony with Sean Tuohy.
